ISLAMABAD: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Security, Captain (R) Syed Zeeshan Haider, chaired a meeting to review security arrangements for the cricket team’s visit to Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Senior police officers from the twin cities, along with officials from other law enforcement agencies, attended the meeting.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding the security arrangements for the cricket team’s visit.
It was decided that foolproof security would be ensured in close coordination with Rawalpindi Police and other law enforcement agencies.
The team’s movement routes will be monitored using modern technology and drones. More than 800 police officers and officials will perform security duties, while coordination and information sharing with other security agencies will be further strengthened.
On the occasion, SSP Security directed all officers to conduct search operations across the district prior to the team’s arrival.
The Special Branch was instructed to collect intelligence and ensure timely communication with the concerned authorities. Officers were also directed to brief officials about the nature of their duties before deployment and to assign only the most capable and well-trained staff to security tasks.
In conclusion, SSP Security and all officers reaffirmed their commitment that Islamabad Police would leave no stone unturned in ensuring comprehensive security during this important visit of the South African cricket team. Islamabad Police will take every possible measure to uphold the country’s dignity and reputation.’
