Southampton: As international cricket returns after 117 days with strict SoPs released by the International Cricket Council (ICC), players are expected to adjust themselves with new rules.
On the very first day of international cricket after almost three months, captains of England and West Indies, Ben Stokes and Michael Holding, mistakenly shook hands after the toss.
In a video posted by Sky Sports Cricket, Stokes and Holding were seen shaking hands mistakenly after England won the toss and decided to bat first. Commentators immediately reminded skippers that shaking hands are not allowed following COVID-19 precautions.
“Sanitise those hands,” Commentator told Stokes with a laugh all around.
It must be noted here that England and West Indies will play three Tests in July. The first day of the opening Test was interrupted by rain.
