Street criminals’ gang busted, valuables reveres

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Sabzi Mandi police has busted a notorious gang of street criminals and recovered snatched jewelry, cash, mobile phones and hand bags, a police spokesman said on Friday.
He said that, following orders of IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan, DIG Operations Waqar Ud Din Syed had categorically directed all zonal officers to accelerate their efforts to curb the crime in their respective areas.
Following these directions, SP Industrial Area Zubair Ahmad Shaikh constituted special police teams. One of the police team under supervision of SDPO Sabzi Mandi Ghulam Muhammad Baqir headed by SHO Sabzi Mandi Imran Haider alongwith others succeeded to bust a notorious street criminal gang. The accused are identified as Muhammad waseem , Muhammad zeeshan, Muhammad Usman. Police team has also recovered three pistols with ammunition, artificial jewelry, cash, 13 mobile phones and hand bags.
The accused during preliminary investigation have revealed that they were involved in numerous street crimes in areas of sabzi mandi and surroundings. Cases have been registered and further investigation is underway from them.
