ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Territory Police and Excise and Taxation, Islamabad, have decided to intensify strict action and take effective measures against rules violators through mutual cooperation.
It was decided in a meeting held at Central Police Office between IGP Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan and Director Excise and Taxation Bilal Azam.
The meeting decided to promote mutual cooperation and intensify action against rule violators. Strict legal action will be taken against the owners of vehicles with non-payment of E-Challan and token tax arrears till June 30.
A new facilitation desk will also be opened in the Excise Office to expedite and facilitate the process of vehicle verification. The meeting also decided to take strict legal action till 31 July against vehicles having fancy number plates.
Data integration will also be done between Islamabad Capital Police and Excise Office so that non-customs paid and vehicles involved in any serious crime can be identified and action can be taken against them in a timely manner.
At the occasion IGP Islamabad said that the purpose of the data integration is to promote mutual cooperation between the two departments.
He further said that Islamabad Capital Police is always committed to ensuring protection of life and property of the citizens.
He further said that strict legal action will be continued against law-breakers and criminal elements without any discrimination. “To resolve public grievances are among our top priorities”, IGP maintained.
Economy on ventilator: Sheikh Rashid
RAWALPINDI: Former Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid on Thursday said that the country’s economy is on the ventilator while the political system of the country is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
The AML chief took to twitter and said that Musharraf’s refusal to come back to Pakistan has blocked Nawaz’s return too. The real budget is yet to be presented, which will worsen the conditions, he added.
The AML head said that depriving overseas Pakistanis of their right to vote and amending the NAB laws and benefiting from them are national crimes. –Agencies
