Sungi-Aawaz II holds quarterly meeting

ISLAMABAD: In the backdrop of COVID-19 epidemic, a long awaited quarterly meeting of the district forum Aawaz-II program was held under the auspicious of Sungi Foundation at WAPDA Rest House Khanpur. Besides forum members from three tehsils of Haripur district, representatives of Labor, Bait-ul-Mal, Social Welfare and other departments also attended the meeting and shared presentation on the performance of the respective tehsils and briefed the participants on the issues and possible solutions as well as.
The meeting was chaired by Sr. Advocate Tehsin ul Haque, while Regional Coordinator Sungi Foundation Shahid Aziz performed as moderator. Meanwhile, Program Officers Sabir Khan Yousafzai and Babar Mahmood simultaneously finalized the Action Plan and Child Labor Day in the light of the participants’ views and suggestions and the future course of action of the Forum devised. Hameed-ur-Rehman and Amir Mustafa of Labor Department specially participated in the meeting and expressed satisfaction over the objectives of Aawaaz-II program regarding child labor and pledged all kinds of cooperation thereof they apprised the attendees with their worthy insights as well as.
Nayyar Abbas Jafari of Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal Haripur apprised the participants of the ongoing program initiatives organized by Bait-ul-Mal, especially for the persons with disabilities, and the steps taken by the department to provide more facilities to PWDs, in this regard a meeting with MD Pakistan Bait ul Maal Islamabad included in action plan to extend the maximum facilities throughout the district. Dr. Irfan Nasir and Javed Masih represented the minority community in the meeting, while Saima Shaukat; President of She-male Association Haripur represented the transgender community. Apart from setting up schools, I.T and vocational centers under the auspices of Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal in Ghazi and Khanpur Tehsils, the meeting also discussed issues related in obtaining domicile of the minority community in Ghazi on priority basis and efforts were assured to resolve by apprising relevant departments.
