Supervision ensures Party discipline

BEIJING: A total of 15 disciplinary inspection teams from the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China have been assigned to positions on the ground as of Saturday, according to an official statement.
It is the first round of disciplinary inspections launched by the 20th CPC Central Committee, targeting 30 centrally administered State-owned enterprises, five financial agencies and the General Administration of Sport of China.
The inspected bodies held mobilization meetings, and heads of the central disciplinary inspection teams reiterated that inspection and supervision are an important part of the Party and State supervision system, and a strategic institutional arrangement for comprehensively and strictly governing the Party.
The inspection teams will adhere to the general principle of seeking progress while ensuring stability, fully implement the guidelines for the CPC Central Committee’s inspection work and give top priority to the implementation of the guiding principles of the CPC’s 20th National Congress. The inspection will strengthen deterrence, pay more attention to addressing both symptoms and root causes, focus on power and responsibility, especially of the “top leaders” and leading bodies, and focus on prominent problems that the public has strongly complained about.
