Bishkek: Acting President of Kyrgyzstan, Speaker of the Parliament Talant Mamytov met with Chairman of the Executive Committee – Executive Secretary of the Commonwealth of Independent States Sergey Lebedev, the press service of the Kyrgyz parliament reported.
During the meeting, the sides discussed topical issues of cooperation within the CIS, as well as participation of international observers from the CIS in the preparation and conduct of the presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan.
Sergey Lebedev informed Talant Mamytov about the situation in the Commonwealth and upcoming events – meetings of the Economic Council, the Council of Foreign Ministers and the Council of CIS Heads of State, which will be held on Dec. 9, 10 and 18, 2020, respectively.
Sergey Lebedev stressed that the CIS Executive Committee highly appreciates the significant contribution of the Kyrgyz Republic to the activities of sectoral structures, wide participation in the practical implementation of documents adopted within the CIS, in events of general significance for the Commonwealth and expressed hope for the further development of relations of friendship and cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and other CIS member states. Talant Mamytov expressed the Kyrgyz side’s firm commitment to the development and expansion of all-round cooperation within the Commonwealth and noted: “Within the framework of the CIS, the necessary conditions have been created for multilateral interaction of the participating states in almost all areas of interaction, a huge integration experience has been accumulated, and the legal framework for expansion and deepening of international relations. The established practice of relations between the CIS countries testifies to the presence of unrealized potential between the CIS members. In this context, the role of the CIS Executive Committee as a permanent executive, administrative and coordinating body is very important”.
“We are ready to take part in the work of the upcoming meetings of the Council of CIS Foreign Ministers and the Council of CIS Heads of State at the appropriate level,” the acting President of the Kyrgyz Republic emphasized. Earlier, Acting President of Kyrgyzstan, Speaker of the Parliament Talant Mamytov congratulated television and radio workers on their professional holiday – the Day of Television and Radio Workers of the Kyrgyz Republic. –Agencies
