FAISALABAD: On the deep interest of President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Dr. Khurram Tariq, the team of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, Faisalabad visited Faisalabad Chamber Thursday.
During this visit Ms. Fariha Khan, Director of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) Faisalabad has said that a comprehensive strategy will be adopted in consultation with stakeholders to increase the exports of other sectors including textiles.
She said that TDAP has been organising international exhibitions in the name of Texpo for the last 10 years. Whereas now it has been divided into agriculture, engineering, pharmaceutical and IT sector. She further said that more than 300 international buyers participated in the pharmaceutical exhibition while Pakistani exhibitors also received a large number of orders.
She said that they will give priority to the recommendations received by the Faisalabad Chamber to increase exports and in the light of them, efforts will be made to find new markets and create maximum facilities for the exporters there.
The Director welcomed the proposal of Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry to allocate a hall for Faisalabad in the proposed Texpo and said that a decision will be taken soon and informed to you. Welcoming the guests, Senior Vice President Dr. Sajjad Arshad gave a brief introduction of Faisalabad and Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and said that exports can be increased manifold through strong linkages between the government and the private sector.
He also pointed out some problems and said that the Trade Development Authority has organized exhibitions in some countries with which there is no banking channel. He said that besides finding new markets, TDAP should also understand in advance the banking channel and regulatory duties for these countries in order to make the interaction fruitful.
On this occasion, Deputy Manager TDAP Karachi Zameer Soomro told about the Texpo held in Karachi and said that Faisalabad is the center of textile, so more and more industrialists from here should participate in this exhibition.
He said that a large number of global buyers are participating in this exhibition while potential buyers can also be invited on the recommendation of Faisalabad exporters. Finally, Ms. Fariha Khan presented the TEXPO logo to Senior Vice President Dr. Sajjad Arshad.
On this occasion, Faisalabad Chamber’s Rana Amir, Dr. Ejaz Nisar, Muhammad Asim, Muhammad Tayyab, Muhammad Azhar Chaudhry, Rana Akram Mullah Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Ejaz Ahmed Butt besides Deputy Director TDAP Faisalabad Rao Fazlur Rehman and Assistant Director Hafiz Kamran. Ahmed was also present.
