Thieves’ gang busted, stolen valuables worth Rs 2.6m recovered

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Police Margalla police team has arrested a wanted member of a thief gang involved in theft incidents and recovered gold ornaments and cash from his possession.
Following the special directions of IGP Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, the Islamabad capital police has intensified crackdown against the criminal elements involved in bike and car lifting incidents in order to eliminate the crime from the city.
 According to the details, the Margalla police team used technical and human resources and succeeded in apprehending a wanted member of a thief gang involved in numerous incidents. The accused was identified as Rommel Azam.
Police team also recovered stolen gold ornaments and cash worth Rs 2.6 million from his possession. Case was already registered against the nabbed accused and further investigation is underway.
Senior police officers appreciated the performance of the police team and further directed the police teams to intensify efforts against criminals involved in cars and motorbikes lifting incidents.
