Pakistani cinema revived with the release of Waar starring Shaan Shahid. Since then we have seen a constant stream of films coming out in the country. We have had blockbuster hits like Jawani Phir Nahi Aani 2 and Punjab Nahi Jaongi with Fahad Mustafa starrers doing great business. After Covid hit, 5 Pakistani films released in cinemas and couldn’t do much due to a Hollywood release with them. This gave way to a lot of anticipation for Sarmad Khoosat’s Kamli.
Kamli boasts a very talented star cast including Saba Qamar, Hamza Khawaja, Sania Saeed, Omair Rana and Nimra Bucha. It is also a non-Eid release and only Ali Zafar’s Teefa In Trouble has been a non-Eid hit in Pakistan since the revival of cinema. With Hollywood giants as Dr. Strange, Top Gun:Maverick and upcoming Jurrassic World movie in the waiting, a niche film Kamli was in everybody’s eye but looks like it will come out with flying colours.
The film is nearing one crore on opening weekend.

Box office analyst shared the numbers and things are looking great for Kamli.
The film reportedly ended up crossing 1 crore mark with 1.14 crore in total in 3 days.
Public reviews are extremely positive for the film.
