PESHAWAR: Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the US which used to raise the slogans of ‘do more’ now asks Pakistan for negotiations with the Taliban in Afghanistan.
The prime minister was addressing a ceremony held at the province’s Nishtar Hall to mark 100 days of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government.
PM Imran said that the US asks Pakistan now for talks with the Taliban. “I was referred to as Taliban Khan… Now Pakistan has served as a bridge between US and the Taliban.”
While praising the performance of his party’s government, PM Imran Khan said that the residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa don’t give second chances but they gave it to PTI by reelecting it in General Elections 2018.
PM Imran said that the PTI came to the province in 2013 General Elections and came into power again.
He said that he completely trusted Chief Minister KP Mahmood Khan with his responsibilities.
The prime minister said that the people of Punjab had a strange situation of status-quo as a CM would act as a king in the province.
“Usman Buzdar is simple, honest and brave and stood against the entire mafia,” said the prime minister.
PM issues warning to ministers
The prime minister, gave a fair warning to ministers, saying that his government is not afraid of expelling a minister on the basis of performance that a forward bloc will emerge.
He said that all the minister and office holders should come to their duty on time and complete work.
“Didn’t use any conventional tactic for getting mandate, if anyone wants a constituency checked then we are ready,” said the prime minister, adding that the PTI received mandate because it brought change in the lives of people.
Earlier in the day, the prime minister inaugurated shelter homes in Peshawar today during his one-day visit to the city.
Shelter homes have been established by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government under its 100-day plan. According to media, 432 people will be accommodated in the shelter homes where they will also be provided food.
Last month, the premier had instructed Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar to set up tents and provide food for the homeless in the province due to the approaching cold weather.
He had added that spots were also being located in Peshawar as well as Karachi.
Earlier in November, the prime minister broke ground for the establishment of a Panah Gah project for the down-and-out segments of the society after pictures of a man sleeping with his children on the streets of Lahore went viral.
