ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have apprehended a three-member gang involved in impersonating police officers and have recovered snatched motorbike, cash and weapons with ammunition used in the crime from their possession.
The successful operation was carried out by the Humak Police team under the special direction of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq who has tasked police units across the capital with taking firm action against criminal elements to maintain peace and order in the federal capital.
He stated that the police acted on both technical and human intelligence to trace and arrest the accused, who had falsely posed as law enforcement personnel. The arrested individuals were identified as Fayyaz, Usman Dawood and Fayyaz Abbas. He further said that during the raid, the stolen motorbike, cash and weapons with ammunition used in the crimes were also seized.
Case has been registered against the nabbed accused and further investigation is underway to determine their involvement in other crimes.
