ISLAMABAD: Capital Cops, in a bid to tighten noose around anti-social elements, busted three gangsters who had been playing havoc on masses by ransacking homes in the Capital. PS Lohi Bher booked three gangsters, involved in house theft cases at various residential areas including Bharia Town and DHA, while recovering cash, gold ornaments, laptops and other valuables from their possession.
According to details, DIG Operations Waqar-ud-din Syed had directed all zonal officers to initiate crackdown against criminals including those involved in robberies and to accelerate efforts to curb crime in the city. Thus, following the given directives, SP Rural constituted a special teams to curb criminal activities in Rural Zone.
One of such team under supervision of DSP Rukhsar Medhi, consisting of SHO Lohi Bher Sub-Inspector Shahid Zaman, ASI Muhammad Zubair along with other officials. successfully nabbed three members of a gang, involved in striking various houses of DHA and Bharia Town. The nabbed accused were later identified as Saeed Khan, Shafique, and Ashraf. The team also recovered stolen cash, gold ornaments, mobile phone, laptops, one vehicle and valuables from their possession. Moreover, during preliminary investigation, the accused confessed their involvement in striking at various houses. Further investigation is underway from them.
Meanwhile, a team of PS Sabzi Mandi headed by SHO Sabzi Sub-Inspector Imran Haider, along with others, arrested a member of Afghan dacoit’s gang namely Buland Iqbal Afghani and recovered snatched cash and weapons from him. During preliminary investigation, he has confessed his involvement in snatching cash at gunpoint on Kashmir Highway. Further investigation is underway from him. DIG Operations Waqar-ud-din Syed has appreciated the overall performance of the cop teams while directing all officials to ensure effective policing in their respective areas.
