Three Pakistani athletes may face ban over doping charges

Lahore: Three Pakistani athletes Mehboob Ali, Mohammad Naeem and Samiullah are likely to be banned due to doping charges, media reported.
Mehboob won a gold medal in 400m hurdles whereas Naeem won gold in 110m hurdles. Samiullah won bronze in 100m at the 13th South Asian Games.
All players were tested positive for using drugs last month. Mehboob and Naeem decided to go for testing of B-samples.
According to sources, B-sample tests of both athletes are also reported to be positive. Samiullah accepted his mistake and decided not to go for B-sample.
Sources also revealed that Mehboob and Naeem are likely to be banned for 4 years respectively while Samiullah is likely to be banned for 2 years. All three athletes have been temporarily suspended by The Athletics Federation of Pakistan. – Agencies
