BEIJING: During the 37th World Federation of Great Towers Conference, representatives from member towers exchanged insights and recent achievements in smart tourism, product innovation, promotional strategies and scenic area development.
They also discussed solutions to address market challenges. The event commenced on Tuesday in Chongqing.
The event drew over 60 delegates from 17 renowned towers worldwide, including the Eiffel Tower, the Empire State Building, the Fernsehturm Berlin and the Mirador Torre Glories, as well as from 10 iconic Chinese towers, including the Oriental Pearl Tower, the Canton Tower, Central Radio and Television Tower and the Macao Tower.
“We share in our common commitment to excellence in all aspects of tower operations and strive to share ideas on how to improve and deliver the best-in-class experience to our visitors,” said Jean-Yves Ghazi, executive director of the WFGT and president of the Empire State Building Observatory at the opening ceremony of the event.
Established in 1989, the WFGT promotes the most iconic towers worldwide and to enhance the experience for visitors. Currently, the platform boasts 53 tower members.
“While the tower functions as a modest observation deck atop a skyscraper, it offers a panoramic view of the entire cityscape.
Effectively narrating a city’s history and presenting its rich cultural heritage is our common vision, and this conference presents us an opportunity for mutual learning and growth,” said Luo Jiu, member of the board of directors of WFGT and managing director of Canton Tower, who attended the event. –The Daily Mail-China Daily news exchange item
