ISLAMABAD: A special training for 25 female law enforcement officers on investigative techniques related to Trafficking in Persons (TIP) and the Smuggling of Migrants (SOM) being organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), under the framework of the Global Action to Prevent and Address Trafficking in Persons and the Smuggling of Migrants in Asia and the Middle East (GLO.ACT – Asia and the Middle East), will be held at the Ramada Hotel Islamabad from November 02 to 06, 2020.
LO.ACT-Asia and the Middle East is a four year joint initiative by the European Union (EU) and UNODC implemented in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in four countries in the region of Asia and Middle East, including Pakistan. The project reaffirms that combating human trafficking and migrant smuggling is of the highest importance for the EU and the United Nations as a whole.
Jeremy Milsom, Representative for UNODC Pakistan shall inaugurate the Special Training, Wajid Zia, Director General FIA, H.E. Androulla Kaminara, Ambassador of the European Union to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan will delivery key note addresses during the inauguration of special training.
