Transgender delegation visits CPO

ISLAMABAD: IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi had issued specific directives to ensure the protection of life and property of citizens in the federal capital, along with providing them all facilities.
In this regard, the delegation of transgender community visited the Central Police Office Islamabad. The delegation met with ASP Shehrbano Naqvi, who listened to the issues of transgender and assured them of their resolution.
During the meeting, consultation was held on the establishment of “Tahaffuz Darsgah” to resolve educational, health, economic, and other issues of the transgender community.
On this occasion, ASP Shehrbano Naqvi mentioned that a memorandum has been signed between Islamabad Police and the UK Curriculum and Accreditation Body (UKCAB), through which the establishment of “Tahaffuz Darsgah” will be implemented. This initiative aims to enhance the capabilities of transgender, providing them with formal education and other facilities systematically.
She further said that the purpose of establishing this institution is to provide transgender with the best educational opportunities in primary and higher education, along with imparting fundamental skills that will enhance their quality of life.
