US President Donald Trump has dismissed Iran’s latest proposal as “unacceptable”, according to Israeli media, as tensions around potential negotiations continue.
Citing Israel’s Kan News, Al Jazeera reported that Trump said he had reviewed the proposal in detail and rejected it outright.
“I’ve studied it, I’ve studied everything – it’s not acceptable,” he reportedly said.
In the same remarks, Trump also weighed in on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s ongoing corruption trial, calling for him to be pardoned.
Speaking to a Kan News reporter, Trump said, “Tell your president to pardon Bibi [Benjamin Netanyahu]. He’s a wartime prime minister. They wouldn’t have Israel if it wasn’t for me and Bibi in that order. You want to have a PM that can focus on the war, not focus on nonsense.”
His comments come as diplomatic uncertainty persists over a possible US-Iran deal, with Washington continuing to signal scepticism over Tehran’s proposals. –Agencies
