ISLAMABAD: Following the special directives of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, operations are continuously being carried out without discrimination against criminals involved in serious crimes across the federal capital. In this regard, the Islamabad Police teams from Bhara Kahu police station and the Homicide Unit arrested two accused who had carjacked a Suzuki vehicle, abducted the driver and later murdered him.
The arrested accused have been identified as Tayyab and Abdullah. Acting promptly the police team also recovered the vehicle that was snatched from the deceased, Muhammad Waseem, as well as the weapons and ammunition used in the incident. A case has been registered against the arrested individuals at Bhara Kahu police station, while efforts are ongoing to arrest other accused involved in the crime.
DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq stated that Islamabad Police is strictly following a zero-tolerance policy against organized and active criminal elements and is taking all possible measures to ensure the safety of citizens’ lives and property.
He further said that, no criminal elements will be allowed to disrupt the public peace. Citizens are also requested to cooperate with the police and immediately report any suspicious activity or item to their respective police station or via the the emergency helpline “Pucar-15”.
