ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have successfully apprehended two accused involved in a case of sexual abuse and obtained their remand from the relevant court for further investigation.
According to details, on 01 October 2024, the Sumbal police team received information from a victim who stated that she was sexually assaulted by two accused named Tahir Abbas and Tasawar Abbas. Upon receiving the information, the Sumbal police team registered a case no.784 under Section 376 PPC.
DIG Islamabad, Syed Ali Raza, took immediate notice of the sexual abuse case and directed the officers to apprehend the culprit on a priority basis. A specialized police team was formed under the supervision of the SSP Investigation.
The SSOIU and Sumbal police teams utilized all scientific and technical resources and successfully apprehended two accused involved in this case. The police teams also obtained a physical remand of the accused, and further investigation is underway.
