ISLAMABAD: Industrial Area Police received information about an incident in which a foreign national was robbed of a large sum of money at gunpoint. Upon receiving the information, the police took immediate action, registered a case and launched an investigation to apprehend the accused.
Under the supervision of SP Industrial Area Zone Dr. Ayaz Hussain, special police teams were constituted. Utilizing modern technical resources and professional investigative techniques, the teams worked day and night and succeeded in arresting both accused involved in the robbery in less than 36 hours.
The arrested accused were identified as Aqib and Talat, who have previous criminal records in robbery and street crime cases in Attock district. Police recovered the entire stolen amount of Rs. 26 million from the accused, along with the motorcycle used in the crime, weapons and ammunition. SP Industrial Area Zone Dr. Ayaz Hussain said that elements involved in crimes against foreign nationals would be dealt with strictly in accordance with the law and brought to justice. He said that protecting the lives and property of citizens and foreign nationals is among the top priorities of Islamabad Police.
He further stated that all available resources are being utilized to prevent crime, protect citizens and maintain law and order in Islamabad, while action against criminal elements would continue with greater effectiveness. SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza appreciated SP Industrial Area Zone Dr. Ayaz Hussain, the SHO and the investigating officers for their timely and effective action, arresting the accused and recovering the substantial amount of money. He also commended the performance of the police team.
