-Huge cache of liquor recovered

ISLAMABAD: A distillery was raided at PS Khanna jurisdiction area lead to the recovery of a huge quantity of liquor and alcohol, here this Sunday.
According to details, following the directives and through able guidance of IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar, renewed efforts are underway to curb bootlegging and drug peddling activities in the city. DIG Operations Waqar-ud-din Syed also, time and time again, has been conducting special meetings with heads of various police stations while directing them to accelerate efforts against anti-social elements.
Thus, at a tip off, SP Rural Malik Naeem Iqbal constituted a team to raid at a distillery in the area. The team headed by DSP Sardar Ghulam Mustaf included SHO PS Khanna Mirza Muhammad Gulfaraz and Sub-Inspector Ghulam Mustafa. A raid was conducted whereby a huge quantity of liquor, alcohol and other materials were recovered. The team also nabbed Kashif Maseeh and Adil Maseeh during the raid.
Separate cases have been registered against those running the given distillery while further investigation is underway.
DIG Operations Waqar-ud-din Syed has appreciated the performance of the given team while directing for further effective measures against those involved in bootlegging and other anti-social activities.
Man held for keeping wife hostage
ISLAMABAD: Cops caught some Muhammad Jalil S/O Ali Gul, aged 27, resident of Dhok Paracha, PS Tarnol jurisdiction area, for holding his wife Hina Bibi hostage inside his house, on gunpoint.
The parents of the accused, a drug addict, had been trying to negotiate with him since Saturday afternoon and this Sunday, he came out holding his wife hostage. Cops along with his family members, overpowered him and thereby saved the life of his wife.
The accused fired 3 shots but all remained unhurt. Subsequently, he was overpowered by SHO Tarnol Chaudhry Arshad Ali and his team who booked the man with 30-bore pistol and 2 live rounds. Legal proceedings are underway against the accused.
