ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police has arrested two fleeing robbers involved in firing on policemen in Lohi Bher police station area. According to details, on 20th February 2022, a team of officials of Police Station (PS) Lohi bher had erected a special check post near Jinnah garden to curb the crime (dacoitees) on the night between Saturday and Sunday when the cops spotted suspicious two bikes with four persons on board.
The cops signaled the bikes to stop for checking but the bike riders started indiscriminate firing on police party and fled away. Police team had managed to stop the robbers after putting hectic efforts but the robbers again opened firing on the cops, he said adding that police had also retaliated and held a accomplice in injured condition. The other three robbers managed to escaped from the scene while taking advantage of darkness, he said. IGP Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas had taken strict notice of the incident and had directed the concerned officers for immediate arrest of fleeing robbers. On Tuesday, a police team of Lohi Bher police station under supervision of SP Rural Zia Uddin has arrested two robbers who were identified as Farhad s/o Fazal Subhan a resident of Sawat and Zaid Ullah s/o Agha Gul a resident of Afghanistan. Weapons were also recovered from their possession and further investigation is underway. The gangsters were involved in numerous cases of robberies, theft and other heinous crimes. IGP Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas has appreciated the performance and said that Islamabad police is taking all efforts to curb crime in the city.
