LUCKNOW: Two youths, both Jaunpur natives were arrested for kidnapping a minor girl from Lucknow and raping her. Naka police had registered a case under charges of rape and kidnap. The 15-year-old girl left for school on March 23 in Naka. When she did not return home, the family lodged a missing report.
On Saturday, some relatives spotted her near Charbagh railway station and sought police help. A team led by sub inspector Adesh Kumar Singh found the girl. Police also nabbed the accused, Sonu and Raja. One of the accused claimed he was in love with the girl and that she had eloped with him but the girl accused both of raping her.
Police spokesperson Harishanker said a case of kidnapping, rape and charges under POCSO had been lodged against the youths who had been sent to jail.
