FAISALABAD: Speaker at a workshop arranged at the University of Agriculture called for conducting quality research work in order to combat the different challenges and to produce the manpower equipped with scientific knowledge. It will open up an avenue of development and prosperity.
The Department of Chemistry UAF arranged a two-day workshop on scientific writing The inaugural session was chaired by UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan while renowned scientists Jamil Anwar, and Prof. Dr. Tariq Mahmood Ansari were the guests of honor. Dean Sciences Prof. Dr. Asghar Bajwa, Chairman Chemistry Dr. Ejaz Ahmed Bhatti, Dr. Haq Nawaz Bhatti, Dr. Asif Hanif and others also spoke.
Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said that a prosperous future can be ensured by equipping students with contemporary scientific knowledge. He said that UAF was revising its curriculum in order to bring educational reforms in line with the international standards. It will help hone the abilities of the students.
Dr. Jamil Anwar said that although chemistry is considered as a dry subject, but it is the sweetest subject which is used at every step of daily life. He said that the scientist who developed water formula took ten years. He said that in the country, more and more research papers are being produced in the short time which feel like a race. It has reduced the quality,” he said.
Dr. Mahmood Ansari said that basic research is also as important as applied. He said that such events would pave a way in polishing the skills of the students and to meet the demands of the era.
Dr. Asghar Bajwa said that a bright future can be ensured by making hardwork and dedication. He said that newcomers to the university face difficulty in understanding the scientific language and this workshop will help them to overcome it.
Dr. Ijaz Ahmed Bhatti said that poster competitions containing scientific ideas of the students have also been made a part of this seminar, so that better manpower could be ensured by promoting a competitive atmosphere.
