The United Nations’ shipping agency said it was awaiting further details on President Donald Trump’s reported proposal to charge cargo vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
A spokesperson said the agency opposed fees for any strait used for international navigation.
The spokesperson added there was no legal basis for imposing mandatory tolls on transit through an international strait. –Agencies
