ISLAMABAD: A delegation of traffic volunteers, consisting of students from Bahria University visited Safe City Islamabad to gain insights into the operations and significance of the state-of-the-art surveillance system.
The visit, organized under the guidance of the Capital Police Officer (CPO) Safe City/Traffic, aimed to foster awareness among the student volunteers about the importance of Safe City Islamabad and its role in enhancing public safety.
During the visit, the delegation was briefed by the DSP Safe City, who provided them with a comprehensive understanding of the various features and utilities of the Safe City Islamabad surveillance system.
The briefing included an in-depth introduction to the cutting-edge technologies employed by Safe City Islamabad, such as “Pukar”15, Crime Mapping, Brief Cam, e-Challan, Wireless Control, Traffic Control, and FM 92.4.
The delegation was impressed by the extensive coverage provided by the Safe City Islamabad cameras, as they learned that under the command of Islamabad Capital City Police officer (ICCPO), Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, an additional 2500 cameras have been installed, effectively covering 40 percent of the capital territory. This expansion has significantly contributed to the reduction of crime rates in Islamabad, with a remarkable 42 percent of crimes being traced through the Safe City cameras.
Moreover, the delegation had the opportunity to witness the exceptional performance of the Eagle Squad across the district and gained insights into the operations of Eagle Control. DSP Safe City highlighted the remarkable efforts made by Islamabad capital police to ensure the safety and security of the citizens. The delegation appreciated the relentless dedication of the Islamabad police in making Islamabad a safer place for all.
Expressing his gratitude, the CPO Safe City/ Traffic Islamabad commended the valuable contribution of the students as traffic police volunteers and recognized them as a valuable asset to the nation. He assured the delegation that Islamabad capital police would continue to support and encourage the efforts of the students in serving the community.
