URUMQI: Urumqi, capital of northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, has rolled out a spate of measures to support the development of China-Europe freight train service.
According to Urumqi Customs, those measures include increasing the customs clearance efficiency, reducing the declaration cost, and optimizing the inspection of imports by China-Europe freight trains.
Urumqi Customs has established designated service windows in several railway ports to implement 24-hour scheduled customs clearance and prioritized clearance of China-Europe freight trains, in an effort to increase efficiency. Enterprises can use “non-contact” means such as the electronic declaration form to handle customs procedures for goods transferred by China-Europe freight trains. Urumqi Customs will also accelerate the implementation of the mutual Authorized Economic Operator agreement with more countries to offer simplified customs procedures for train services.
