RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa said that peace in Afghanistan is vital for regional peace, said an Inter-Services Public Relations press statement.
The army’s media wing said a US delegation, led by Commander US CENTCOM General Joseph L Votel, called on the army chief today.
During the meeting, geo-strategic environment, regional security and Afghanistan peace and reconciliation process were discussed.
The visiting delegation appreciated Pakistan Army’s efforts for regional peace and stability.
The COAS said that Pakistan, despite constraints, has contributed to regional peace and would continue to do so.
