Uzbekistan, Oman strengthen cooperation

TASHKENT: Several leading publications of the Sultanate of Oman, such as Oman Daily and Shuoon, are widely covering the visit to this country of a delegation led by the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov.
During the visit, representatives of Uzbekistan met in Muscat with the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion Qais Al Yousef, President of Oman Investment Authority Abdulsalam Al Murshidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources for Water Resources Ali Al Abri, as well as with the heads of leading companies such as Suhail Bahwan Group, Sohar International Bank, Oman Cables, Asyad Group, MB Holding.
During the meetings, the Uzbek side presented project initiatives in the oil and gas, energy, agriculture, textile, and mining industries, mechanical engineering, food industry, logistics, and tourism.
The practical aspects of Uzbekistan’s investment climate were considered in detail: guarantees of investor protection, tax and customs privileges created in industrial zones.
Following the negotiations, an agreement was reached on the implementation of new joint projects in priority sectors. The parties expressed their willingness to establish long-term relations. The primary focus in this process will be on the implementation of joint investment projects, infrastructure development, and trade diversification.
An exhibition was held within the framework of the event, where the investment opportunities of Uzbekistan were presented. –Agencies
