Velayati warns ‘chain of responses’ to any escalation, claims control of Hormuz

Iranian adviser Ali Akbar Velayati has said regional powers now control key global shipping routes, warning that any escalation would be met with a firm response.

In a post on X, he said “the era of security being imposed from across the oceans has ended,” adding that waterways such as Hormuz and Malacca are now secured by Iran and its partners, while Bab al-Mandeb is “in the hands of the Ansar Allah brothers.”

“Any mischief will receive a chain of responses,” he warned.

Velayati also criticised Western positions at the Paris summit, saying countries concerned about maritime security should focus on their own regions, including the English Channel and Gibraltar, while praising Spain’s stance. –Agencies
