Lahore: Senior pacer Wahab Riaz was sent back to Pakistan from London airport after he traveled United Kingdom (UK) to take part in maiden ‘The Hundred’ cricket tournament.
The 35-year-old Wahab was told by the immigration department at London airport that he has traveled with the wrong visa. Wahab told this correspondent that he is rectifying the visa error and will soon travel again.
It must be noted that Wahab will represent Trent Rockets. Wahab will join pacer Mohammad Amir as the second Pakistani to play in the league. Shadab Khan and Shaheen Shah Afridi have shown their unavailability due to national duty. They both will travel to West Indies for T20Is and Tests.
The Hundred will kick off on July 21 this year followed by the final on August 21. The league was postponed last year due to prevailing COVID-19 across the world. – PNP
