ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police Khanna police station team utilized technical and human resources and succeeded in apprehending a wanted member of a snatcher gang involved in various incidents of looting citizens.
The accused was identified as Shahid Yaqoob. Police team also recovered the snatched cash from his possession. Cases were registered against the arrested accused, and further investigation is underway.
On the special directives of DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq, the Islamabad Police have launched a large-scale crackdown in the federal capital against accused involved in robbery, snatching, and other serious crimes. As a result, there has been a significant decline in major criminal incidents. Moreover, he also instructed all officers to continue strict action against those depriving citizens of their valuable assets. He also urged the public to cooperate with the police and immediately report any suspicious activity or object to the concerned police station or via the emergency helpline “Pucar-15.”
