RAWALPINDI: Security forces on Sunday killed a high-profile terrorist during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Khyber district, the military said in a statement.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), terrorist ring leader Surat Gul aka Saif Ullah of Da’ish was killed after an intense exchange of fire.
It said that weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the killed terrorist commander, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities including target killing of innocent civilians as well as extortion and was highly wanted by the law enforcement agencies.
The statement said that sanitisation operation is being conducted to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area. It further said that locals of the area appreciated the operation and expressed their full support to eliminate the menace of terrorism. –Agencies
