ISLAMABAD: IGP Islamabad Qazi Jamil ur Rehman has said that police officials and jawans are assets of Islamabad police force and welfare steps would be ensured for them and their families.
After assuming charge as head of Islamabad police, Qazi Jamil-ur-Rehman has initiated various steps for welfare of policemen. The ambulance has been provided at police dispensary while doctor has been also appointed there. Free life saving medicines are also being provided to policemen free of cost. A separate counter has been established to facilitate the families of martyred personnel while a special committee has been constituted for timely payment of pension and arrears to retired policemen. The IGP said that various welfare steps have been initiated for the force which would be further extended. He said that such steps would boost the morale of the force and to improve its efficiency along with.
“Islamabad police is the best and exemplary force of the country and I feel proud to lead as Inspector General of Police,” he said, adding every possible effort would be made to facilitate the each personnel of the force.
11-year old boy reunited
with parents
ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Shams Colony police on Monday reunited 11-year old missing boy with his family. According to details, a woman informed Shams Colony police that his 11-year old son Masab Bin Umair had been missing and could not be traced despite hectic efforts by family members. Following this information, SP (Industrial-Area) Liaqat Hayat Niazi constituted a special team under supervision of DSP Khalid Mehmood Awan to trace the missing boy. This team including SHO Shams Colony police station Aamir Abbas searched various under-construction buildings, houses and garbage heaps. Various people were inquired about the missing boy and finally police team succeeded to recover him safely following which he was reunited with his parents.
The family has thanked the police team over safe recovery of the boy. IGP Islamabad Qazi Jamil ur Rehman and DIG Operations Afzaal Ahmed Kauser have appreciated the performance of police team.
13 suspects held during
search operation
ISLAMABAD: Capital Cops conducted a search operation in the area of sector H-12 and adjoining slums and arrested 13 suspects, a police spokesman said. All the suspects were shifted to police station for interrogation. DIG Operations Afzaal Ahmed Kausar has said that the purpose of these search operations was to heighten the security of federal capital and to curb the crime. He further directed all police officials for high vigilance and monitoring against those involved in anti-social activities.
The DIG emphasized that it is collective responsibility of every person of the society to remain alert against those involved in criminal activities in their surroundings and inform police for action against them. “Safety of life and property of the citizens is our prime responsibility and no stone would be left unturned in this regard†the DIG added.
DIG for Zero Tolerance Policy
against delaying FIRs
ISLAMABAD: Capital Cops will not compromise on its policy regarding immediate and free registration of crime and to take stern action against those involved in delaying the registration of First Information Reports (FIRs). This was stated by Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) Afzaal Ahmed Kausar while reviewing the phone calls data of Rescue 15 about crime incidents. Following the directions of IGP Islamabad Qazi Jamil ur Rehman, he thoroughly reviewed the crime data of last quarter of 2020 and directed for immediate registration of FIRs on reported crime cases. A total of 61 FIRs have been registered so far following this review by DIG Operations while process is underway for registration of other cases. DIG Operations said that a complaint cell would be established for registration of complaints and a cell number would be provided to citizens for messages or calls on it. Later, DIG Operations conducted meeting with Zonal SPs and directed to complete investigation of pending cases on merit. He asked to launch crackdown against professional alm-seekrs and their handlers. He also directed to conduct search operations in the rural areas of Islamabad including Tarnol, Sihala, Bhara Kau and ensure effective security in the city. He also asked to take comprehensive measures for prevention of crime and ensure arrest of anti-social elements.
He said that it is responsibility of police to ensure protection to the lives and property of citizens and ensure justice to them at their door steps. Every possible effort would be made to accomplish this responsibility, he added.
Funeral prayer of Head
Constable offered
ISLAMABAD: The funeral prayer of Head Constable of Islamabad police was offered here who died after being hit by a vehicle near Islamabad club. The funeral prayer of Head Constable Abdul Wadood was attended among others by IGP Islamabad Qazi Jamil-ur-Rehman and senior police officials. Head Constable Abdul Wadood, hailing from Mardan, got critical injuries after being hit by a vehicle near Islamabad club. He was shifted to hospital where he succumbed to injuries. IGP Islamabad Qazi Jamil ur Rehman has expressed sorrow over this sad demise and said that Islamabad police stand with bereaved family during this difficult time. He said that his family would be assisted during this challenging time for them. SP Security Division Malik Naeem also visited the house of deceased cop in his native city. He attended the burial rituals and laid wreath on his grave. He also prayed Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace.
185 beggars rounded
up during grand operation
ISLAMABAD: On the special directives of IGP Islamabad Qazi Jameel-ur-Rehman, a special campaign was launched here this Monday against beggars and their facilitators. DIG Operations Afzal Ahmad Qaiser, in this regard, held a meeting with zonal SPs and directed them to form special squads for this purpose.
Thus, a grand operation was conducted against beggars and 185 beggars were caught and sent behind bars. Efforts are underway against the facilitators of the professional beggars as well. IGP Islamabad has further stated, on the other hand, that the professional beggars would be eradicated from the Capital and all out efforts would be undertaken to control professional beggars who are a source of nuisance for the masses.
