QUETTA: Chief of Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Tuesday said during his visit to Corps HQ Quetta that terrorists will not be allowed to destabilize peace efforts.
On his arrival, COAS was received by Corps Commander Lieutenant General Sarfraz Ali. COAS was given a detailed briefing on the security situation, operational preparedness, border management including fencing along Pak-Afghan and Pak-Iran borders.
He was also briefed on the socio-economic initiatives undertaken by the Army in support of Govt of Balochistan and efforts underway for capacity enhancement of LEAs to ensure peace and stability.
General Qamar Javed Bajwa said that the Pakistan army will make all possible efforts towards the achievement of enduring peace for
sustainable socio-economic development of the province.
He said that terrorists won’t be allowed to destabilize peace efforts. COAS emphasized that all-out efforts be made to assist the provincial government in ensuring law and order.
COAS lauded officers and men for their dedicated efforts, continued vigilance, and high morale.
Earlier on Monday, Gen. Bajwa, visited Command & Staff College (C&SC), Quetta and addressed officers and faculty of Command & Staff College.
According to the details, COAS has addressed staff course-2020/21, focused on professional matters, internal & external security situation, and matters concerning the regional security environment.
Speaking on the occasion, COAS emphasized Pakistan’s resolve and determination to confront the global phenomenon of terrorism by adopting the whole of Nation approach. COAS said that the future of enduring peace and stability in South Asia hinges on the ability to resolve long pending issues within the region.
This can be complemented through meaningful international support and the will to take on complex challenges.
Focusing on the COVID-19 pandemic, COAS said that Pakistan Army along with other state institutions will do all to mitigate the challenges faced by the people of Pakistan. Only a cohesive national effort shall take Pakistan to progress and prosperity, COAS said.
Earlier on arrival at Quetta, COAS was received by Lieutenant General Sarfraz Ali, Commander Quetta Corps, and Major General Amer Ahsan Nawaz, Commandant Command & Staff College.–ISPR
