‘Workers true strength of Pakistan’

ISLAMABAD: On Labour Day, the Federal Minister for Law and Justice, Azam Nazeer Tarar, paid tribute to the hardworking people of Pakistan, stating, our workers are the backbone of this nation.
In his message on International Labour Day, he said that the labourers tireless efforts drive our progress, and they deserve not just recognition, but protection.
He emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to ensuring laws that safeguard workers’ rights, dignity, and well-being.
Every worker deserves a safe, fair, and respectful workplace, and we are committed to making that a reality. Earlier, Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Khalid Hussain Magsi paid tribute to the hardworking labourers of Pakistan on Labour Day, acknowledging their vital role in the country’s development.
“Workers are the foundation of Pakistan’s progress,” Magsi stated, reaffirming the government’s commitment to ensuring safe and accessible workplaces for all labourers.
He emphasized special attention towards labourers in agriculture, construction, and the informal sector, highlighting efforts to uplift their conditions.
“We aim to improve workers’ lives through science and technology,” said the minister. Calling labour the backbone of national development, Magsi stressed that everyone should have equal opportunities for growth. “The health, safety, and welfare of workers are our top priorities,” he concluded. On the other hand, Parliamentary Secretary for Human Rights Saba Sadiq, MNA on Thursday expressed the commitment that the present government will take all possible steps for welfare of labour class. In her message marking the International labour day, she said that all possible steps were being taken to ensure implementation of minimum wages law for labour. –Agencies
