Xi congratultes China 5G+ IIC

Wuhan: Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the China 5G+ Industrial Internet Conference (IIC) that opened Friday in Wuhan, central China’s Hubei Province.
President Xi highlighted the technological innovation in China’s growth strategy, saying a new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation is gathering pace globally, and science and technology are playing an even more significant role in the pandemic-hit global economy.
By integrating 5G and industrial internet, technology innovation enables China to speed up its building of digital China and smart society, and accelerate its new industrialization, he said.
The integration can bring more opportunities to the pandemic-hit world economy, he added.
A series of 5G+ industrial internet products are being showcased during the three-day conference in Wuhan, the once-epicenter of the novel coronavirus earlier this year.
Xi said Wuhan is recovering from the pandemic and he hopes local government could take the opportunity to boost digital economy and high-quality growth.
China has laid out a roadmap for social and economic development for the next five years to 2025 in a key CPC meeting closed last month.
According to the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025), China adopts a new development strategy, with emphasis of high-quality growth, and highlighted a “dual circulation” strategy, where domestic and foreign markets can boost each other, with the domestic market as the mainstay.
Chinese Vice Premier Liu He, who read Xi’s letter via video link, said the 14th Five-Year Plan has prioritized innovation in China’s high-quality growth, and that the central government hopes Hubei Province could take the opportunity of growth and boost high-skilled manufacturing and digital economy.
