HEFEI: Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, on Wednesday visited families of those who died fighting floods in east China’s Anhui Province.
Xi consoled the family members of three deceased persons when he visited a floodwater diversion zone in the county of Feidong.
Xi told them that their lost loved ones are heroes and deserve respect from everyone.
“Every time a calamity occurs, heroes charge forward. This embodies the great spirit of the Chinese nation,” Xi said, asking the family members to take good care of themselves.
Chinese President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, has instructed the armed forces to make unremitting efforts to complete the follow-up tasks of flood control and disaster relief.
Xi, who was inspecting flood control and disaster relief in east China’s Anhui Province, gave the instruction Thursday after hearing reports from the military on joining localities in battling floods across the country.
Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, has underlined the need to live in harmony with nature, calling on people not to compete for development space with nature.
Xi made the remarks Wednesday afternoon during his tour to check on the flood situation of Chaohu Lake in Hefei, capital city of east China’s Anhui Province.
We should not only make good use of the lake, but also protect and carefully manage the lake to make it the best symbol of Hefei, Xi said.
Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, has encouraged Magang Group, a subsidiary of China Baowu Steel Group, to seize the opportunity in the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta. The steel subsidiary should combine its own reform and development with the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta and strive to develop itself amid the process, Xi said Wednesday during his inspection tour in east China’s Anhui Province.
In the fight against the COVID-19 epidemic, Magang Group, with its timely work resumptions, reported year-on-year growth in both output and revenues, which showed the strong resilience of the state-owned economy, Xi said.
