Karachi: Legendary Pakistan batsman Zaheer Abbas has been inducted by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in its list of Hall of Famers on Sunday.
Asian Bradman became the sixth Pakistani to be included in the elite list of cricketers. He joins Hanif Mohammad, Imran Khan, Javed Miandad, Wasim Akram, and Waqar Younis.

“I feel privileged and truly humbled to be inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame of the class of 2020. I am excited to be in the midst of other illustrious cricketers,” said Zaheer.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Chairman Ehsan Mani also congratulated the 73-year-old on his induction.
“It is a matter of great honor and pride for Pakistan that Zaheer Abbas’s outstanding career achievements have been acknowledged by the game’s governing body,” Mani said in a statement release by OCB.
“It gives me immense pleasure to congratulate Zed on behalf of millions of Pakistan cricket fans across the world for this recognition,” he added.

* The only player from Asia to have scored at least a 100 first-class hundreds
* Became just the second player to score his hundredth first-class century in a Test Match
* He scored two centuries in the same first-class match on a record eight occasions
* On a record four occasions, he scored a double-century and a century in the same first-class match
* The first player to score three successive centuries in ODI cricket
* Spent 215 days as the No.1 ranked ODI batsman (1983-1984)
* Captained Pakistan in 14 Test Matches, and only lost one of them
* Later served as an ICC Match Referee and as ICC President On the other, former South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis and Australian women’s team all-rounder Lisa Sthalekar was the other two inductees in this year’s ICC Hall of Fame. Kallis is one of the greatest all-rounders in the history. He scored over 10,000 runs in Tests and ODIs while taking 200 wickets in both formats of the game. Kallis has a record 23 Player of the Match awards in Tests. He is also South Africa’s highest run-getter in Tests and ODIs.

The 41-year-old Sthalekar became a World Cup winner in 2005 and 2013. She also won the T20 World Cup with Australia in 2010 and 2012. Sthalekar is the first woman to take 100 wickets and hit 1000 runs in international cricket.
