ZIBO: Construction industry is booming in Pakistan as the country is building five new cities with a lot of incentives recently announced by the government. Moreover, Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision of Naya Pakistan Housing Program, envisaging building five million affordable houses, has attracted a lot of attention. A lot of trade-related reforms by Pakistan have also opened up opportunities for Pakistan to encourage and promote investment in Pakistan’s large domestic market of 220 million people.
These ideas were discussed in detail at the opening ceremony of 2020 Zibo Export Commodities (Pakistan) Online Fair on Monday. Kursheed Nizam, President of Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan Ltd., speaking at the occasion, expressed optimism about the prospects of exploring more trade and business opportunities between China and Pakistan in the backdrop of policies announced recently.
“Pakistanis are learning Chinese language to reduce communication gap. Even in the current situation of travel inconvenience caused by the epidemic, the online B2B meeting still creates a barrier-free platform of communication and exchanges between the two sides. It is believed that after the epidemic, more collaboration opportunities will come up between the enterprises of both countries,” he added. Ms. Li Qingxiu, Deputy Secretary of the Party Group and Deputy Director of Zibo Municipal Bureau of Commerce, stated that Zibo attaches great importance to the economic and trade cooperation with Pakistan, and the two sides have carried out fruitful cooperation in building materials, chemical industry, papermaking, etc.
The four-day fair has included 30 Shandong foreign trade enterprises to carry out exhibition and promotion as well as hold online negotiations with nearly 70 traders from Pakistan.
