ISLAMABAD: Capital Cops, in a bid to tighten noose around anti-social elements, caught 24 culprits including a wanted accused, in various cases of burglaries, while recovering looted cash, narcotics, wine, valuables and weapons from them.
According to details, following the directions of IGP Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan, DIG Operations Waqar-ud-Din Syed issued directions to all zonal officers for renewed efforts against those involved in anti-social activities. Owing to these efforts, SP Sadddar Omer Khan constituted a special team under the supervision of DSP Margalla Malik Abid Ikram including PS Karachi Company’s SHO SI Saleem Raza and ASI Hakim Khan.
The given team worked hard and succeeded to arrest accused namely Tasawur who was wanted to police for his involvement in burglaries and theft incidents in various areas of twin cities. Cash, artificial jewelry, valuables and mobile phones were also recovered from the accused. Moreover, during preliminary investigation it was revealed that the apprehended accused had remained a jail bird and the police team was hopeful for more recoveries from him.
Meanwhile, PS Karachi Company also caught a cheater namely Arif Maseeh impersonating himself as representative of Ehsas program. Another team headed by SP Investigation Dr.Syed Mustafa Tanveer including DSP CIA Hakim Khan, SI Tariq Rauf, Mustaiq Butt, ASI Mohsin and other officials, successfully arrested three accused including two POs. They were later identified as Yasir Khursheed resident of Farans Colony, Riaz Haider Naqvi resident of Korang Town and Khurram Mushtaq resident of District Rawalpindi. 145 grams of heroin was also recovered from one of the accused.
Furthermore, PS Aabpara booked an accused Shah Anwer and recovered 20 wine bottles from him. PS Secretariat busted two accused Said Jameel and Abdul-Razzaq and recovered two 30-bore pistols along with ammunition from their possession, while the cops also arrested Abdul-Hameed involved in selling petroleum products illegally in the area.
Similarly, PS Ramana apprehended an accused Asif and recovered 110 gram hashish from him. PS Khanna caught accused Ayaz Khan and recovered 220 grams hashish from him. PS Sihala arrested two drugpushers namely Haroon Rasheed and Ashiq and recovered 125 gram heroin and 220 gram hashish from their possession.
Separate cases have been registered against the nabbed accused while further investigation is underway from them. Moreover, during special crackdown, the cops’ teams nabbed 13 proclaimed offenders from various areas of the city. DIG Operations Islamabad Waqar-ud-din Syed has appreciated the overall performance while directing them to intensify their efforts against anti-social elements.
