ISLAMABAD: Capital Cops’ PS Lohi Bher busted a gang of dacoits, involved in several snatching incidents at Pakistan Town, PWD Colony and Expressway.
According to details, DIG Operations Afzaal Ahmed Kausar directed all Zonal SPs to control crime in their respective areas and check snatching and dacoity incidents. Following his direction, SP Rural Rana Abdul Wahab constituted special teams comprising officials of various police stations in Rural area to check this crime.
One of the team headed by SDPO Rukhsar Mehdi including SHO Loi Bher Adeel Shaukat and others succeeded to bust a notorious `Tora gang’ of dacoits and recovered weapons and ammunition from the gangsters. Two nabbed gangsters have been identified as Salman alias Tora and Tariq Mehmud while they confessed to commit several dacoities at Pakistan Town, PWD, Expressway and also at the house of a senior journalist.
DIG Operations Afzaal Ahmed Kausar and SSP Operations Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer have appreciated this performance and directed all police officials for effective strategy against criminal elements.
