10 drug pushers held, cache of drugs recovered

ISLAMABAD: Capital Cops thwarted an attempt to smuggle narcotics from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to down parts of the country and arrested 10 persons in possession of cache of drugs. According to details, following orders of IGP Islamabad Qazi Jamil-ur-Rehman and DIG Operations Afzal Ahmed Kausar, he said that SSP Operations Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer had categorically directed all police officers to accelerate their efforts against drug dealers/smugglers and curb this menace from Capital.
Following these directions, SP Saddar Zone Hamza Humayun constituted a special anti-drug police team under supervision of SDSP Sajjad Bukhari, PS Golra and PS Tarnol SHOs Raseed Ahmed and Fazal Khaliq and others. The teams nabbed three drug pushers Muhammad Kashif, Abdul Wali and Muhammad Mustaq besides recovery of 3.560 kilogram hashish from them. Moreover, during preliminary investigation, the accused confessed of smuggling the cache of drugs from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Islamabad and various cities of Punjab. Meanwhile, SP Rural Zone Rana Abdul Wahab constituted special police teams nder the supervision of SDPOs Koral, Sihala and Shahzad Town circles including SHOs Sihala, Koral, Shahzad Town, Khanna police stations along with others apprehended four drug pushers namely Jameel Khan, waqar, Umer Naz and Rashid and recovered 5.225 kilogram hashish from their possession. Furthermore, PS Kohsar arrested accused 380 gram hashish from him. While Industrial Area police arrested Ejaz Khan and recovered 510 gram hashish from him. SSP Operations Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer have appreciated the performance of the cops’ team and announced cash rewards for them. He said that Islamabad police is accelerating all out efforts for safety and security of citizens. He also requested the citizens to inform police in case of any such suspicious activity in their areas.
