Five caught, drugs & weapons recovered

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police arrested 5including drug peddlers and illegal weapon handlers from different areas of the city and recovered 495 gram hashish and three bore pistols with ammunition from their possession.
According to the details, following the directives of IGP Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan Islamabad police accelerated crackdown against criminal elements to curb the crime in the federal capital. Koral and Khana police teams arrested two accused namely Sohail Khaliq and Shahid Khan involved in drug peddling and recovered 495 gram hashish from their possession.
Similarly, Bhara Kahu and Koral police teams arrested two accused involved in possessing illegal weapons namely Jahid Khan and Raja Taimur and recovered two 30 bore pistols with ammunition from their possession. Likewise, Khana police team arrested an accused namely Muhammad Ali during snap checking and recovered one 30 bore pistol with ammunition from his possession.
Cases against all the nominated culprits have been registered and further investigations are underway.
IGP Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan has appreciated this overall performance of the police teams and further ordered to intensify the crackdown. “Safety and security of the citizens is our foremost priority and no laxity will be tolerated in this regard”, he added.
