LAHORE: PTI’s disgruntled leader Jahangir Tareen on Tuesday formed a three-member committee to rope in defectors as he is set to launch a new political party.
The committee comprising Awn Chaudhry, Sardar Tanvir Ilyas and Ishaq Khakwani will invitate PTI defectors to join Mr Tareen’s political group.
Meanwhile, three members of PTI’s “Hashim Dogar group” on Tuesday joined PTI disgruntle leader Jahangir Tareen’s political camp. They include Raja Yawar Kamal, Mamoon Tarar, and Rai Aslam.

Earlier, ex-PTI general secretary Asad Umar said he was not in contact with Mr Tareen but was in touch with Mr Chaudhry.
A group of former PTI leaders including Mr Chaudhry, earlier, paid PTI vice chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi a visit in Adiala Jail to discuss political situation and recent crisis in the PTI ranks.
On Saturday, former MPA Niaz Gishkori joined Mr Tareen’s faction. Mr Gishkori announced the decision after meeting Mr Tareen at his Lahore office.
Following the massive defections by the PTI leaders, Mr Tareen had arrived in Lahore on June 1 to cobble a new party, thus raising the political temperature in Punjab.

Meanwhile, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah on Tuesday reiterated that the May 9 miscreants would be brought to justice at any cost.
Addressing an event, Mr Sanaullah took a jibe at the embattled Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), saying, “PTI has in-dulged in the culture of using foul language. It has been portrayed that the PTI is the red line”.
“The PTI chief attacked the judiciary to avoid arrest. Police were also attacked in Zaman Park. After his capture, the state was attacked through proper planning. After the attack on military installations, PTI’s position is that this is our political protest,” Mr Sanaullah maintained.
Mr Sanaullah heaped praise on PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif, saying, “PML-N and Nawaz Sharif brought the country out of the swamp in the past. Nawaz Sharif is a leader who believes in democracy. All the big projects have been com-pleted during the tenure of Nawaz Sharif.”
Speaking about Kashmir, Mr Sanaullah said, “Pakistan and Kashmir are one soul and inseparable. Kashmir is the life-blood of the country”. –Agencies
