Smuggling goods worth Rs140m seized

Peshawar: The Collectorate of Customs Enforcement Peshawar and Dera Ismail Khan on Monday released its performance report for the past three weeks, showcasing a remarkable crackdown on smuggling operations.
Under the vigilant leadership of Chief Collector Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Saeed Akram, the customs enforcement agencies have conducted a total of forty operations, leading to the seizure of smuggled items worth more than Rs140 million. The efforts have not only safeguarded national interests but also contributed significantly to increased revenue collection. In a series of operations, valued at over Rs20 million, foreign cloth, cigarettes, gold, non-custom paid vehicles, alcohol, tires, and various other contraband items were seized across different locations, including Bacha Khan Airport in Peshawar. A comprehensive investigation into these seizures has led to the registration of cases against the accused, marking the initiation of further legal proceedings against those involved in these smuggling activities. –Agencies
