ISLAMABAD: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, informed Station House Officers (SHOs) about a new crime-fighting strategy in 2025.
The IGP Islamabad chaired a meeting with the SHOs at the Central Police Office in Islamabad, where he briefed all SHOs on the new strategy aimed at preventing crime and addressing criminal elements in the year 2025.
During the meeting, the IGP Islamabad also reviewed the performance of the SHOs and issued instructions for senior police officers to evaluate the service records and citizen interactions of all SHOs.
He emphasized that officers with exemplary service records and excellent performance would be appointed as SHOs in police stations.
Further, the IGP Islamabad directed all SHOs to hold crime meetings with their subordinate officers three times a week and to conduct Khuli Katcheries within their police station jurisdictions to address citizens’ concerns. He insisted that the Special Initiative Police Station Protocols (SIPS) be fully implemented at all police stations.
IGP Islamabad also ordered SHOs to ensure effective action against criminal elements, focusing on the prevention of crime, timely detection of offenders, and their swift arrest.
He instructed a full crackdown on proclaimed offenders, court absconders, and habitual offenders. All officers were also tasked with combating illegal weapon possession, weapons display, and drug peddling.
Additionally, the IGP Islamabad instructed all officers to ensure the registration of tenants, servants, and citizens staying in hotels. All officers must ensure timely responses to Pukar-15 calls and maintain foolproof security arrangements at their police stations. Police officers on patrol should be equipped with full protective gear.
IGP Islamabad emphasized a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption and the importance of surprise visits to police stations. He stated that officers demonstrating exceptional performance would be recognized with certificates of appreciation and prizes. However, strict departmental action would be taken against officers who are negligent, careless, or show poor performance in their duties.
