ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar on Saturday afternoon reaffirmed that Pakistan’s “all-weather strategic cooperative partnership” with China is firmly anchored in mutual trust, shared objectives, and long-term strategic alignment.
In a statement posted on his X account, DPM Dar emphasized that Pakistan deeply values Chinese President Xi Jinping’s vision and initiatives for global peace, development, and multilateral cooperation.
He underscored that the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) has evolved into a pivotal Eurasian platform, driving progress in critical areas including regional security, trade, energy, connectivity, and cultural exchanges.
The DPM added that Pakistan looks forward to “constructive high-level engagements” not only with the Chinese leadership but also with the heads of other SCO member states during the summit.
The DPM’s remarks came as Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Tianjin, China, to participate in the 25th meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of State. During the summit, the Prime Minister is scheduled to deliver a keynote address and hold bilateral meetings with world leaders to explore avenues for enhanced regional cooperation, peace-building, and economic partnerships.
Following his participation in Tianjin, the Prime Minister will travel to Beijing to attend events commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. A key highlight of the Beijing visit will be the Second Pakistan-China Business-to-Business (B2B) Investment Conference, which the Prime Minister will chair. –Agencies
