IGP reviews pending cases, investigation, crime prevention measures

ISLAMABAD: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, chaired important meetings at the Central Police Office (CPO). The meetings were attended by AIG Legal Muhammad Tahir Kazim, SSP Investigations Muhammad Usman Tariq Butt, SSP Operations Muhammad Shoaib Khan, zonal SPs, and investigating officers.
IGP Islamabad reviewed the progress of pending cases investigation, investigative matters, legal aspects, crime prevention measures, supervision systems, patrolling procedures and the overall law and order situation.
He directed senior police officers to ensure that all investigations are completed with professionalism, transparency, and based on solid evidence, so that timely justice and the maintenance of peace and order can be ensured. He emphasized strengthening crime prevention efforts, effective patrolling, and surveillance systems through modern technology.
He further stated that all zonal teams must work with full responsibility, professionalism, and teamwork to ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property and the maintenance of peace and order.
IGP Islamabad also chaired a meeting at the Traffic Police Headquarters with Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad, Captain (R) Hamza Humayun, SP Traffic, and other officers. CTO Islamabad briefed the IGP in detail about the progress of the Licensing Campaign (Phase I and Phase II).
He informed that during this campaign, the Islamabad Traffic Police processed a record of more than 150,000 driving licenses, as a result of which the percentage of licensed drivers on the roads increased from 54% to 80%.
On this occasion, the IGP directed the officers to further raise this rate to 90%. He instructed traffic officers to provide maximum facilities to the public on the roads, maintain polite behavior, and strictly implement the policy of “Pehle Salam, Phir Kalaam” (Greet First, Then Speak).
He also commended all officers and personnel who participated in the campaign.
IGP Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, also delivered a lecture to police officers at the Capital Police College regarding investigations. In his lecture, he discussed in detail the initiation of investigations, the protection of crime scenes and collection of evidence, various research methods, and the use of scientific techniques.
He emphasized the importance of professional competence, accurate evidence analysis, improvement in the quality of investigations, and the timely submission of case challans in court. He added that effective, modern, and scientifically based investigations are essential for ensuring justice and enhancing the prestige of the police.
